What is the difference between ancestral property and self-acquired property?

Ancestral property is inherited up to four generations of male lineage without division. Every coparcener has an equal right by birth under Hindu law.

Self-acquired property is property purchased or earned by an individual. The owner has complete discretion to will it away or transfer it as they wish.
